« I'm working 70 hours a week »
Cool. I was too. And, I was DUMB.
Today I work ~40 hours.
And I've never been more productive.
Better sleep, sharper focus, faster MRR growth.
Back when I was VC-backed, I had no control over my time.
Slack messages non-stop
Meetings every 30 minutes
Zero flexibility if the dog got sick, or my girlfriend needed help
Zero room to breathe
I thought that was the grind.
It was just chaos.
The wake-up call?
A brutal co-founder conflict.
One of the best things that ever happened to me.
I left.
Rebuilt.
And designed a life that works *for* me.
Here's what my day looks like now:
↳ Wake up naturally around 7:30 AM (no alarm, not a slave)
↳ Drink water, get straight to work
↳ Deep work and founder calls from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM
↳ Training from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM (run or gym depending on the day)
↳ Shower, lunch, walk the dog
↳ Back at it by 2:30 PM
↳ Work until 6:30 PM
↳ Evening with my partner, rest, recharge
↳ Optional sprint 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM (2–3 times a week)
No work on weekends. No work on holidays.
Just rhythm, consistency, and focus.
I track my sleep for a year now.
I sleep better, I decide better, I ship better.
Everything reinforces everything.
So yeah, I work fewer hours.
But I'm finally playing to win.
