« We're like a family here »
If a company tells you this 👆, RUUUUN.
Companies that claim to be a family are rarely the best ones.
A family doesn’t fire you when you underperform.
A family doesn’t push you every day to become a better version of yourself.
A family doesn’t handpick its members to achieve a collective, ambitious mission.
Phil Jackson, the greatest basketball coach of all time, said this about the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls led by Michael Jordan:
« We are not a family. We are a team.
A team is a meritocracy, results-driven and mission-oriented.
A family is there to make you feel safe. »
The best companies are not families.
They are high-performance teams.
Teams that are:
🔥 Mission-driven
🔥 Obsessed with results
🔥 Where standards are insanely high
🔥 Made of A-Players carefully selected
Great teams challenge you.
They push you to be better.
They set the bar high, and expect you to rise to it.
Because that’s how real impact is made.
