At BuddiesHR, we just shipped the BEST org chart app on the market.
Period.
You know the saying: « If you’re not embarrassed by your first product, you launched too late. »
Well, as usual, my co-founder Fabien and I shipped an MVP for our org chart app.
It was pretty ugly.
It worked well for teams under 15 people but became clunky as the team grew.
Here’s what user feedback taught us:
↳ It was hard to navigate—ridiculously large, no zoom in/out, and no cursor movement
↳ You couldn’t edit cards or add info to user profiles
↳ You couldn’t add people unless they were in Slack
↳ ...and plenty of other issues
A few weeks in, our roadmap became crystal clear.
We fixed E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.
It’s now:
✅ Easy to navigate (zoom, smooth scrolling)
✅ Fully customizable—add as many fields as you want on profiles, define required fields, and allow employees to edit specific ones
✅ Powerful—filter by department, search anyone, export data, and more
So, why is it the best on the market?
From all the solutions we tested and the feedback we received, there’s simply no standalone org chart tool like this.
Most org charts are just features within larger HRIS software.
The problem?
• You can’t use the org chart alone (and of course, the HRIS is expensive 🙃).
• It’s not their core product, so they don’t invest much in it.
Btw, if you want to try our org chart app for free, try searching "Linky" in the Slack app directory ;)
