Let's take a concrete example:
Edward, the co-founder of a high-growth startup, is working extremely hard to make it (60+ hours a week). The #hustlemode is ON.
He hired his first employees but doesn't want to impose his crazy work schedule.
Problem: he noticed his employees send messages on Slack after 10pm or during the weekend.
Solution: in the next all-hands meeting, he'll briefly discuss this issue so that people try their best to avoid this behavior.
Results: can you guess? Of course!
It had a small impact in the short term, but a month later, the situation remained the same.
Real solution: lead by example and work "only" 40 hours a week.
You may wonder: "But J.Y, how will he find the time to tackle 60 hours of work in 40 hours?"
He "just" has to be better at prioritizing and delegating.
