I've seen one toxic manager crash an entire startup.
The guy wasn't just bad. He was corrosive.
↳ Ignored employees for days (sometimes weeks lol)
↳ Put pressure instead of leading
↳ Spread lies about former co-founders to protect his ego
↳ Played the « divide to rule » card (and sadly it worked)
Two teammates, friends for years, ended up fighting.
Crazy how one toxic guy managed to break a friendship and destroy team spirit.
The product was good.
The team was talented.
The market was there.
But none of that mattered.
It rotted from the inside.
I've seen this firsthand.
Watching from the outside.
Glad I left when I did.
That's why today, I only build with Fabien.
Because trust isn't optional.
Because culture starts at the top.
Because one wrong person in charge can blow everything up.
Before you commit, ask yourself:
« Would I trust this person to lead if I wasn't around ? »
If the answer's not a screaming YES, walk away.
Startups don't die from bad code.
They die from bad people.
