Just reached 1M+ impressions in 90 days on LinkedIn.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
1/ Almost impossible to predict virality
All the posts I thought would go viral didn’t.
Some of the ones I considered the worst did.
🤷♂️
2/ 1M+ impressions don’t generate as many leads as I expected
We have some tracking links, and I think only 1 signup for BuddiesHR came directly from LinkedIn.
It’s hard to measure the founder brand impact, but I feel it helps indirectly (generating private conversations, improving close rates thanks to thought leadership).
3/ 80% of my posts flop
Some posts die after just 500 impressions.
I spent so much time refining them, truly believing they’d make it.
And... 500 impressions.
4/ 10% of my posts generate 90% of the results
Classic Pareto principle.
Applies to LinkedIn too, lol.
5/ Virality happens after a few days
All my viral posts took 3-5 days to pick up.
The LinkedIn algorithm seems to evaluate your post for a few days before deciding if it’s a BANGER.
6/ I bring value to this world. Yay!
When I started posting, I wasn’t sure I’d find an audience here on LinkedIn.
After a few iterations on my content, I finally found my place:
Posting about being old-school, non-AI, non-VC-backed companies, lol.
WE, the invisible ✊
Anything you’d like to know about posting on LinkedIn?
I’ll be 100% transparent about everything, so don’t hesitate to ask!
Also curious, if you’re posting on LinkedIn, what have you learned from it?
