The best fundraising strategy is to NOT need funding at all.
It's reaching what most startups underestimate:
💰 Default Alive – when your revenue covers your costs.
If you're not there yet, you're in dangerous territory:
❌ Default Dead = "Please invest, or we’re out of money."
💸 VC: "We might invest... but on our terms."
🙏 You: "Thank you for saving us!"
Now compare that to:
✅ Default Alive = "We’re profitable but open to scaling faster."
💼 VC: "We want in! But we need a board seat and XYZ terms."
😎 You: "No thanks, we don’t need your money."
Being Default Alive flips the script.
You’re in control.
You negotiate from strength.
You decide if you want funding—not the other way around.
Raise capital if it makes sense.
But never be dependent on it.
Agree?
