The hardest part of building a startup is NOT the 0 → $1M ARR journey.
The REAL pain is getting from $0 → 6 figures.
Here's what the startup journey is REALLY like:
- 100% think they have an amazing idea
- 1% actually starts working on it
- 10% of those people finish an MVP
- 10% of THOSE get their first paying customer
If you're doing the math, that's 0.01%.
You think a $1M ARR journey is hard?
Imagine being in that 0.01%...
...asking yourself (on a weekly basis) if the idea you're working on isn't a total waste of time.
And money.
And the opportunity cost is massive.
You're not getting paid.
You're using up savings or contract income to take care of yourself and your family.
You're working tirelessly striving for...
THAT VERY FIRST SALE.
Did I mention...
Nobody knows who you are?
Everybody thinks your product is irrelevant?
And though smaller, the opportunity cost seems HUGE.
That's why the $0 → 6 figures ARR journey is the hardest of all.
If you're struggling for your first paying customer...
Keep at it.
Stay strong.
You got this.
