VC funding is for losers. (And I've been one of them)
Here's 4 reasons why you SHOULDN'T take VC in 2025:
1. Raising makes you optimize for short term “vanity” metrics because it's about future rounds.
2. Raising makes you grow too quickly, which creates cultural problems and kills innovation.
3. Large multiples focused on ARR, not a healthy bottom line, leave many in a desperate spot.
4. Founders raising millions of $$$ often end up with nothing to show for it.
TAKEAWAY:
In 2025, building a startup the *old fashioned* way will be the only path to:
Making a product that people LOVE
Creating a culture that will steal all the best talent
Producing a diehard community around you/your brand
What's the old fashioned way? ...
Hard work, credibility, word of mouth.
And making capital-efficient decisions every day.
This is the path to a healthy SaaS business in 2025.
If you do these things, the VCs will be beating down your door.
But when the term sheets start flying in, you already know the answer...
Just. Say. No. 👊
